Goodside

Terms of Use

Effective 4 July 2026 · Applies to the Goodside iOS app

These terms are an agreement between you and Goodside, operated from New South Wales, Australia ("Goodside", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the Goodside app, you agree to them. They apply alongside Apple's App Store terms; where Apple's minimum developer terms require it, the provisions in section 10 apply in Apple's favour.

1. What Goodside is

Goodside is a camera app. You set framing preferences, and the app displays on-screen guides that coach whoever is holding your phone toward the framing you chose. Coaching and photo analysis run on your device. Goodside is a framing aid, not a guarantee of any particular photographic result.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Goodside on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. We keep all rights in the app, its design and its code. You may not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where the law says we cannot restrict that.

3. Your content

Your photos remain entirely yours. That includes photos taken with Goodside and reference photos you select. Goodside processes them on your device and claims no rights over them. Because they never reach us, we could not use them if we wanted to. You are responsible for having the right to use any reference photo you select.

4. Purchases, trials and cancellation

Goodside requires a purchase after its free trial. All purchases are made through your Apple Account, on these terms:

Final pricing is shown in your local currency on the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

If your subscription lapses, coaching features lock, but the app, your photos and your saved profiles remain on your device and unlock again if you resubscribe.

5. Acceptable use

Use Goodside lawfully and respectfully. Do not use it to photograph people who have not agreed to be photographed where their consent is required, and do not use it in any way that breaks the law. You are responsible for the photos you take and how you use them.

6. Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. In Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and you are entitled to the remedies the law provides if we fail to meet them.

7. Disclaimers

Subject to section 6, Goodside is provided "as is". We do not warrant that coaching guidance will suit every scene, subject or photographer, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Face detection and motion sensing depend on your device and conditions, and can be imperfect.

8. Liability

Subject to section 6 and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Termination

You can stop using Goodside at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate this agreement if you breach it materially. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 3, 6, 7, 8 and 11) survive termination.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and Goodside, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and no warranty obligation beyond any refund of the purchase price where the law provides one. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory or IP claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in an embargoed country and are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep any protections your local law gives you that cannot be excluded by contract.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The current version always lives at this page with its effective date. Material changes take effect for you when you continue using the app after an update that includes them.
